Ethos & Values
The aims of our school are:
- To create a stable, caring and stimulating school environment
- To provide a broad, balanced and relevant education for the children, which is continuous and consistent across the school
- To help the children be happy in school, experience success and feel a sense of satisfaction in work well done, thus increasing their self-respect and willingness to persevere to realise their full potential
- To help children acquire the basic tools of learning - oracy, literacy and numeracy
- To develop in the children lively, enquiring, imaginative and creative minds, with the ability to question and argue rationally
- To encourage children to become independent, adaptable, flexible, able to integrate in all social/work settings, as well as being both self-motivated and self-disciplined
- To help the children acquire a reasoned set of moral values, attitudes and beliefs in which to help understand the world they live in and the interdependence of peoples and their environment
- To encourage in the children an aesthetic awareness, enjoyment of, and interest in the creative arts, developing their own natural skills and potential, through active participation
- To develop in the children the importance of a healthy life style and allow them to take part in a wide range of physical activities, so that they recognise the need for such activity and its potential for enjoyment and fulfilment
- To develop in the children the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing world of employment
- To foster links between home and school so that we encourage parents to take an interest in their children’s education and the general life of the school
